Wow, it's been a while since I blogged! A few reasons/excuses:

a) 20six is down more often than it's up
2) The christmas break from work aka sitting at a computer 8 hours a day meant I was less inclined to blog
c) I've had a stinking cold since New Year's Day and
4) I didn't really have a lot to report!

So, what have I been up to since my last blog? Well, I've completed redecorated our spare room (also my "playroom" because it houses my playstation, gym bench, guitar, cello and now a dartboard), including filling holes (GG helped with this bit), painting the ceiling and walls, and re-carpeting. It's now a nice cream colour with deep red carpet. My knees didn't appreciate it but it's done now and it looks really nice.

The only comical moment came when trying to get the carpet up the stairs from where it had been sat for a few weeks, rond the corner and into the spare room, which of course meant trying to bend it back on itself. I decided I'd try and be clever and keep the carpet in a straight line by taking it up the stairs and putting one end out through the landing window.....except gravity then took hold and the carpet folded in the middle so half of it was hanging down the back of the house, meaning it got wedged over the window ledge!!!

I guess you had to be there, but after much giggling and heaving (not at the same time, cos that's really ineffectual), GG and I managed to heave it back up inside the house and eventually get it into the room and all flattened out. Pictures to follow.

I've finished the little bit of worktop in the kitchen, and finished painting the walls white. We've bought and erected a 6x4 foot greenhouse in the back garden. We had a delivery of wood that filled the log store completely, and has kept us nice and toasty warm during the cold snap, although we have burnt a LOT over the Christmas holiday. But I guess that's what it's there for.

So yeah, apart from that, we've not done a lot. Christmas was quiet, New Year was lurgied and now we're both back at work struggling to stay awake! But at least it's only 38 working days til we go to Florida! Huzzah!!
